Changing a TiO₂ supplier is not simply about finding a lower price. A lower quotation can look attractive, but the real question is whether the new supplier can deliver consistent performance, reliable supply, and predictable production costs.
1. Check quality consistency — not just one successful sample. One sample can pass your laboratory test, but regular production is different. Before switching, it is worth checking consistency between different production lots, especially whiteness, tinting strength, dispersion, oil absorption and other properties relevant to your formulation.
2. Check whether the supplier can maintain stable supply. A competitive price means little if shipment schedules are frequently delayed or availability changes unexpectedly. Ask about production lead time, regular loading capacity, packaging, MOQ and how they handle peak-season demand.
3. Compare the total production cost, not only USD/MT. A TiO₂ grade that is slightly more expensive may still be economical if it provides better opacity, dispersion or dosage efficiency. On the other hand, a cheaper grade may increase your consumption or create additional production adjustments.
**Before making the final decision, a practical approach is to compare the existing grade and the new grade side by side — price, technical performance, dosage, supply conditions and actual production results.
